Not the best picture, but these were a really fun technique. A little fiddly, but it was mostly drying time, not hands-on time.
You take an egg and blow it out, although you could use hard-boiled eggs. I didn't take too much time at this, which is why my holes are pretty big, but guess what? A four-year-old doesn't care! But I did like the technique, so I'll probably try again and do a better job with blowing out the eggs so we can keep them.
Place the eggs on a wooden skewer or similar. Then drizzle the egg with rubber cement. Let it dry. I used a hair dryer to speed this up for Eva. Then dip it in egg dye. Let dry, and repeat the process for any other colors you want to use. Once they're complete, rub off the rubber cement.
We had good luck with using different colors of dye and using darker coats of the same color dye. Easy enough for a kid to do most of, but with nice results...

Scrapbooking End of First Moses Lake Book
These were the final pages from my first Moses Lake book. The next book starts with Peter's birth. And yes, I know the Halloween page says "Halloween 2012." Oops -- got to fix that!

various new projects
New scrapbooking layout - moving into the new house / new garden. So I'm only about 8 months behind with pics. But I want to get through the next set so I can get to the fun new baby pics.
Stockings I finally finished. They've been all but finished for about a year and a half. Started with felted sweaters and cut the stocking shapes, stiched, and added the faux fur tops.
Denim roads for Eva's cars (from Pinterest). Took denim scraps and cut into strips, then painted with yellow lines. Probably need to add puffy paint or that nonskid paint-on stuff to the bottoms so they don't slide so much and serge the edges, but they're essentially done. Very easy!

Food
Here's a recipe for muesli that I think you might like. I will write it and then tell you about my suggested changes.
Apple Walnut Muesli
1 1/2 c. oats
1/2c. oat bran
2 c. milk
2 lg. apples, grated
1/2 c. raisins
2 T honey
1 T lemon juice
2 t. vanilla
1/2 t. cinnamon
Mix all. Cover and fridge overnight. In the morning add:
1/2 c sunflower seeds
1/3 c. wheat germ
1/4 c. walnuts, chopped
This made A LOT! I would cut it in 1/4 for dad and I. I did make it for Fri morning and we did eat some more on Mon. but I had to toss some out.
Good that it is make ahead so breakfasts are easy.
Seemed too sweet.
I add a lot more fun stuff in the morning, either healthy or fresh fruit, etc.
Think maybe I will add the dry stuff (entire recipe) and just keep and put a little in a bowl and add the milk (buttermilk is my favorite here) for any time that I want to have it the next morning.
Now I will try to get a photo on this site. Wish me well.

new scrapbooking pages
I finally got about a year's worth of photos printed, and I'm starting to get a few pages done here and there. I'm trying to use my Silhouette cutter more (which is fun) and also add more words and journaling into the photo book so we remember what was going on (not so fun to do, but I like the finished product--especially since my memory is so bad).
